what is leftover after the celebration is its legacy
we’re constantly told to believe all that matters is the final score
what we remember is more often what we’re told but not what happened
our optimism is often times tempered by our reality
to notice texture we must first have the knowledge to recognize light
oftentimes our fears don’t belong to us, they are put there by others
when we overthink happiness, we forget that it starts with comfort
those who understand will be the first to admit they don’t understand
warm sun on my face and a cold wind on my back i don’t trust either
to reveal the truth we must also consider what shadows reveal
