almost without thought we dismiss many things as not worth the effort
how sad it must be to live in a world of fear and miss the wonder
if we see the signs we know trouble can happen and won’t be surprised
from a secure perch it is easy to forget we’re part of the world
for some, the purpose for why they are here is just to support something
every morning the flower opens without fanfare or notice
as the sun rises the city sleeps, leaving me alone with the view
the small things we add may seem insignificant but we know they’re not
how others see us is not as important as how we see ourselves
what we leave behind tells the story of how we choose to live our lives
