spring feels late this year as the cherry tree slowly begins to flower
ideas are seeds that cannot be realized if they’re locked away
no matter how deep the roots run, they’re only there to support the tree
there’s a certain flow to life that we can resist at our own peril
a storm took the tree but the part where two people carved their love still stands
our world was made small muffled sounds, obscured vision by the late night snow
the shortest distance is a man-made idea; nature doesn’t care
nature made spaces throughout minneapolis where no one can build
not every path will still exist tomorrow travel while you can
when the creek freezes and winter wind slaps your face a new path awaits
