birds will navigate a tangle of tree branches by looking through them
when the lake is calm . the duck is still paddling . never complacent
not sure what comes next . the cat keeps a wary eye . on human actions
between earth and sky . there is balance, existing . precariously
like a clepsydra . or the flow of ocean tides . liquids still tell time
in a sea of red . tulips, it is dangerous . to be different
a warm, sunny day . doesn’t create the drama . of a cold, grey rain
to see one flower . requires making the effort . to ignore the rest
living for today . the oak tree still manages . to be majestic
to return later is often times to return after it is gone
