it’s built; they don’t come maybe it’s in the wrong place or they don’t exist
no matter how bright it only reaches so far we must light the rest
we surround ourselves with overwhelming clutter and ignore wonder
as summer closes we pretend that we will not miss those lazy days
it happened quickly it was blink and you’ll miss it like all the others
this moment we’re in where we are sharing this thought has already gone
fried food on a stick eaten in front of animals that are not yet food
we know there is more because others have told us not because we’ve seen
nothing can stand still even the motionless rock must travel through time
arresting beauty that stops you dead in your tracks and won’t let you go
