as the year winds down . we hope next year is better . without much effort

water finds the path . of least resistance, but can’t .in the freezing cold
to be separate from the noise gets easier the more we practice
to see one flower . requires making the effort . to ignore the rest
what’s outside the door . needs to be worth the effort . it takes to get there
sometimes our hard work is only a placeholder for something better
almost without thought we dismiss many things as not worth the effort
