cautiously i wake to face an uncertain world in uncertain times
if you see something stop before you say something ask: what did i see?
seeing the outside very rarely lets us know what happens inside
in the new normal relaxing feels like an act of rebellion
we don’t need to guess what a boat is, even when sitting on dry land
when the boards come down people will wrongly assume it’s back to normal
tell me your story i will try to be quiet and hear what you say
i wake most mornings completely confused by what my dreams are saying
we cannot ignore when we look out at the world there is work to do
if we act too soon it won’t be right, wait too long and we’ll bake garbage
