slowly over time nature begins to reclaim that which we have made
the first window frost . signals a powerful change . to embrace or fear
a half frozen pond . tells the duck, it’s almost time . to be moving on
waves are reactions to an outside force, the lake does not create them
we think of nature as something outside ourselves to our detriment
when the leaves are gone the berries are left to dry the cycle resets
like a switch was thrown . the chilly november sky . left fall for winter
next year at this time the trees and the water still won’t set their clocks back
autumn colors burn hottest in the week before we set our clocks back
to live in today is to understand the path is just the journey
