drifting the currents there’s no need to overcome just live the journey
it shakes the cabin dumping rain through the sunlight then scurries away
between sky and earth sunlight teases the water but never touches
from the horizon a slow burn soon escalates we’re caught by surprise
gathered on petals the light raindrops tease the light reflecting morning
the soft morning breeze carries the songbirds’ chorus mixing like sweet cream
with calm disruption an unseen hand scrapes the sky absentmindedly
the clouds linger on bringing another wet day and puddles to jump
a single flower draws attention to what is else wise just a bush
roots keep us anchored unlike a tree, the anchor is not physical
