recent history . is easily forgotten . as it’s now the past
the storefront santa . has little option but watch . as the world rolls by
the simple answer . hiding under the layers . is always the truth
certain conditions . will retain the leaves’ patterns . after swept away
some things are assumed . but, when seen in a new light . need to be questioned
the winter sunrise . teases with its warming light . but it is a trick
when a problem sits . ignored, it cannot improve . it only gets worse
